Overview

Spend twelve engaging days traveling through southern Africa on an inspirational journey and wildlife Safari

You will travel authentically with an intimate group of eight people with Dawn as your trip leader. This Adventure is created in collaboration with Michael Haines of Safari & Company who has been in the forefront of African safaris for the past 30 years. An African safari is a journey like no other; you feel connected to this ancient land and it’s genuine people.

The journey begins in Africa’s mother city – Cape Town. Enjoy three days exploring this iconic destination with its stunning coastline and mountains. From Cape Town you fly north to the vast wilderness of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Enjoy eight days on safari in pristine wildlife areas, from the Kalahari Desert to the plains and rivers of the Okavango. You will be expertly guided all along the way by local guides, who will show you Africa’s most amazing wildlife. Interact with the spiritual Bushmen tribe, the original inhabitants of this part of Africa.

Join Dawn on this inspirational African safari with presence and gratitude. Traveling with purpose and moments of integration, brings in a beautiful sense of grace as we move through unknown lands to greet new cultures, eco systems, people and animals with Awareness. Dawn will offer optional mindfulness meditation and light yogic movement for all levels.

DESTINATIONS

We have carefully selected exclusive villas and private reserves that offer the exclusivity and behind the scenes experience that is unparalleled.

Set at the confluence of the Indian and Atlantic oceans and backed by the iconic Table Mountain, the bustling city of Cape Town presents an alluring combination of drawcards. Incredible powdery white beaches, highly acclaimed wine routes, and astonishingly beautiful mountain trails surround a cosmopolitan hub. This diverse metropolis is filled with superb shops and restaurants, extraordinary heritage monuments, a multitude of entertainment venues, and a spectacular, chic waterfront harbour. Highlights ; Table Mountain’s jaw-dropping views; Boulders Beach, where penguins might swim right up to you in the warm Indian ocean waters; the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, where you can walk along a treetop canopy among incredible native flora or watch an open-air concert at the base of the mountain;
Encompassing the vast majority of Botswana territory, the sprawling wilderness of the semi-arid Kalahari Desert is characterised by endless open plains, shimmering salt pans, picturesque orange sands and relics of ancient riverbeds. In the heart of the country lies the world’s second-largest game reserve, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, its magnificent expanse surpassing the size of the entire country of Belgium. The region offers some of the best wildlife viewings in Africa and is home to abundant roaming wildlife, including rhinos, black-maned lions, and desert-adapted elephants. Keen birdwatchers can spot the secretary bird, pale chanting goshawk, ostrich, black-breasted snake eagle and other species. For the culturally curious, an encounter with the San, the indigenous people who have resided in and around the area for thousands of years, is not to be missed.

Go on safari game drives in search of desert wildlife such as zebra, oryx, springbok, lions and more. If there is still water in the Makgadi Salt pans, large herds of migrating zebra can be seen. Educational walks with local Bushman people are also a highlight.

Situated in the northwestern corner of Botswana, the Okavango Delta is a World Heritage Site as it is the largest inland delta in the world. The magnificent Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming this flourishing waterlogged oasis featuring countless meandering waterways and crystal clear lagoons studded with water lilies, as well as fertile floodplains and reeded islands inhabited with abundant wildlife. The Okavango Delta stretches over an impressive 15000 square kilometres. Visitors can enjoy a number of wonderful activities such as game viewing, fishing, bird watching or taking an authentic guided Mokoro excursion through this wetland paradise in a traditional dugout canoe. Commonly spotted animals include: lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephants, crocodiles and countless species of bird.
